FIRST Robotics Competition | Team 1538 The Holy Cows
In middle school I was on an FLL robotics team called Girls-and-Gears and because of how much I loved it I'm now on an FRC robotics team called The Holy Cows. In robotics we are given a game that our robots have to play. We are given 6 weeks to design and manufacture a robot to play the game before competitions start. Another part about robotics that I love besides the designing and building of the robot is how we also prioritize helping our community. At the elementary school on our Point Loma campus we help mentor their FLL team. I love seeing the young kids eyes light up when overcoming a challenge and learning something new.
The past two seasons (2021-2023) I had the opportunity to be the operator for our robot at competitions and I hope to have this opportunity for next two years! This season (2023-2024) I get to have the opportunity to be the manager of order of operations. |
Girl Scouts | Troop 4344
I have been in Girl Scout troop 4344 since kindergarten. I love the sisterhood we've built as a troop and how close we are despite being at various high schools now. Currently we are all working towards our Gold Award. One of my other troop members and I are working on making an all girls STEM camp focused on engineering and robotics as our project. We want girls to have a safe space to learn about STEM and ask questions so that in the future they have confidence even when they are not surrounded by all girls.
